Japan’s defense outline is to be written into the development of laser air defense system

According to foreign media reports, the Japanese government plans to write in the outline of the defense plan, a new guideline for the construction of defense capability by the end of this year, that the air defense system will be developed using large output laser pointer that can destroy the target at a moment with high energy irradiation, and intends to abandon the name of “aircraft carrier”.

In recent years, the world has witnessed a series of attacks that cannot be countered by previous defensive measures, such as remotely piloting multiple bomb-carrying drones to detonate at low altitudes. With the threat likely to grow, the Japanese government plans to push ahead with laser research.

In terms of anti-aircraft weapons, currently the main body is missiles, and laser weapons are much cheaper to consume. Moreover, compared with missiles and machine guns, lasers are overwhelmingly fast and have no fear of running out of ammunition.
