The s-700 system can be deployed in near space with laser antimissile

According to foreign media reports, Russian military expert igor korotchenko recently predicted that the s-700 system has a combat platform and is a laser pointer missile defense system that can be deployed in near space.

Korotchenko said that in about 25 to 30 years, after the United States begins an arms race in space, Russia will be forced to respond or deploy an anti-missile interceptor system with a new generation of weapons, most likely lasers, on a near-space combat orbital platform.

Prior to that, he said, weapons systems and air defense and anti-missile systems will be developed gradually based on the current s-500 research results. Further modernisation of the s-500 could form the basis of the s-600 ground-based system design in 15 to 20 years, while the s-700 would usher in a second direction for anti-missile systems – space.
