The Russian national guard has purchased a number of vehicles equipped with lasers and noise equipment for counter-terrorism operations, spokesman valery gribakin said, foreign media reported.
The vehicles are designed to make noise and other disturbances while performing anti-aircraft tasks. Noise equipment can produce up to 135 decibels of noise within 10 meters, while the human auditory system perceives “pain threshold” of 120 decibels. At the same time, laser pointer devices can produce extremely bright light or cause temporary loss of vision.
The weapons contract, valued at about $1 million, will see the two vehicles equipped with the Russian national guard by the end of 2018.
