On September 9, Academician Lu Daren, the chief scientist of the “multi-band and multi-atmosphere active-passive integrated detection system” project, said at the project site demonstration and expert consultation meeting. The reporter learned from the meeting that the multi-band and multi-atmosphere active-passive integrated green laser pointer detection system is the world ’s first fully-neutral atmosphere (covering from near ground, troposphere, stratosphere, middle layer, all the way to the low-temperature layer ) Multi-component, multi-element large-scale foundation comprehensive detection system.
It is understood that the multi-band and multi-atmosphere active-passive integrated detection system is one of the first batch of national major scientific research equipment development projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The project was officially launched in 2012. Led by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, six other scientific research units within the United Nations have successfully developed the system.
Utilizing world-leading green laser pointer, microwave, and terahertz remote sensing detection technology, the system can not only obtain a variety of meteorological elements such as atmospheric temperature, humidity, wind field and cloud distribution, but also monitor the spatiotemporal changes of greenhouse gases and polluted gases in real time. As we all know, there is a very thick atmosphere around the earth.
