After 2000, sales of lasers have skyrocketed and have surpassed punches in market share for a long time. In 2005, fiber optic technology became a buzzword for laser cutting. Although fiber laser equipment occupies a certain sales share in some markets in the United States, early sales were mostly concentrated in the European laser pointer manufacturing market. In fact, major laser original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have not yet introduced fiber laser technology into their production lines. From 2005 to 2010, fiber laser technology and equipment sales in the United States were very small, the maximum power of the products sold was about 2kW. Until 2010 at the European International Sheet Metal Processing Technology Exhibition (EuroBLECH) in Hanover, Germany, and at the 2011 American International Metal Processing and Welding Exhibition (Fabtech), several large OEMs demonstrated their newly developed fiber laser technology Then, the fiber laser ushered in its grand debut in the United States.
Even so, in 2011, the fiber green laser pointer accounted for only about 5-10% of all laser product sales for cutting applications. However, some manufacturers have begun to introduce products with 4kW power. At the Fabtech show held in Atlanta in 2014, fiber lasers were the only laser cutting equipment displayed at the show, and the power of the exhibits ranged from 2-12kW. At the same time, compared to CO2 lasers, the sales ratio of fiber lasers has risen sharply. In 2015, the sales of fiber lasers showed that they exceeded CO2 products for the first time.
From 2005 to 2010, sales of Fiber Laser Engraver remained modest. There may be several reasons, but the most need to improve is the level of familiarity and comfort. During this period, very few large OEMs were able to provide this option, and end users were not sure whether this fiber laser technology would be truly accepted or just a flash in the pan. With more and more OEM manufacturers starting to launch fiber laser equipment, this technology field really ushered in legitimacy.
