Lockheed Martin (LMT) has developed a laser guided bullet that can “bend”
The lasaer pointer-guided bullet has a more complex internal structure and is longer than ordinary bullets, about 10.16 cm. There are optical sensors at the front end of the missile body, which can be used to search and track laser guidance points of marked targets. Inside the bullet is a “brain centre”, a processor that calculates its flight path. A delicate fin – like projectile can be rotated to control its direction. In this way, the lock, turn, hit can be in one fell swoop.
Snipers using the bullet will be able to mark the target with a continuous laser beam before firing. After firing, the guided bullet will automatically track the target until it hits the target, with a maximum range of 5km.
