Syneron Candela, the world’s leading beauty equipment company, announced the acquisition of Danish medical equipment company Ellipse. Ellipse manufactures and markets platforms based on intense pulsed light (IPL) and laser pointer for a variety of medical and cosmetic skin treatments. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Ellipse’s main products include multi-applications for multi-application IPL and Nd:YAG (laser chrome) platforms for vascular and pigmented lesions and hair removal. Nordlys also offers a fractionated 1550nm head for firming and rejuvenating. Other products include IPL systems for skin rejuvenation, facial veins and hair removal, as well as partial non-ablation laser systems for skin rejuvenation.
