Laser TV Market Share Increased Green Laser Pointer

Laser TV is not a new concept, as early as the 1990s. At the beginning of this century, many international TV giants such as Sony and Mitsubishi launched laser TV prototypes, and the response of the green laser pointer market did not meet expectations. Even now, due to many factors, the market share of laser TV is still not as good as that of LCD TVs, even lower than quantum dots and OLED TVs. Many people in the industry said that 2018 will be the year of laser TV explosion, the first quarter has passed, and from now on, the market has experienced difficulties.

Although many people are optimistic about the future of laser TV, for now, LCD TV is still the mainstream. According to relevant statistics, the total retail sales of the domestic TV market in 2017 was 47.81 million units, down 8.1% year-on-year, LCD TVs accounted for over 80%; total sales of laser TVs were 70,000 units, up by 226% compared with 2016. In 2018, laser TV is expected to double again. In the first quarter of 2018, sales of laser TVs increased steadily, reaching a growth rate of 182.9% during the same period.

Laser TV is also known as the “fourth generation TV”. Compared with LCD TVs, the biggest advantage is low power consumption, health and environmental protection, flexible screen size, and outstanding performance in projection and personalized display. With the growing demand for green laser pointers for personal cinema and real-life quality, the future will have a very promising future in the high-end TV market.

At present, conventional LCD TVs perform well in meeting daily visual needs, but as people’s demands for images and health are getting higher and higher, especially in protecting eyes, LCD TVs are better. A survey on the Internet showed that although the LCD screen is much smaller than the ordinary screen, because it is too bright, it is more likely to make our eyes tired and may even cause headaches and other symptoms. Television is also facing technological breakthroughs and changes.

The picture of the laser TV is diffusely reflected. The picture is softer than the LCD TV. It is almost the same as the natural scenery of the human eye. Under the condition that the indoor light and the picture light are not strongly stimulated, the human eye is not easy to feel tired. Note that when watching the laser TV screen, the indoor lighting should not be completely turned off, so that it will not form a stimulating bright picture, and it is more eye-protecting than the LCD TV.

The emergence and popularization of any technology requires a long process, and the popularity of laser TV is not as smooth. The current situation in the laser TV market is that many companies are more active than users. In recent years, laser TV has achieved good results in user acceptance, which also makes many people optimistic about this market prospect. However, on the road of popularization, there are still several major pain points that need to be resolved.

Technical level remains to be studied and broken
Green laser pointer TV has a high dependence on laser display technology, but in the current domestic situation, China’s laser display technology is still in the initial stage of industrialization, so there are only a few big TV companies in the domestic market. The launch of laser TV, for small and medium-sized enterprises, the launch of laser TV still needs some time.

Regarding the scanning deflection problem in laser TV, the domestic research stage is still in progress, which makes many users hesitant to choose laser TV, because the deflection brings noise, cost and product life.

Second, the industrial chain of laser TV has yet to be perfected, and many companies have difficulty in abandoning the scale of existing industries.

Because LCD TVs are already very popular at present, and the entire industry chain is quite perfect, as a part of the industry, many companies are still optimistic about this cake. For an unclear laser TV, the support for the industry is not so active. Therefore, in terms of technology investment and research and development, the domestic laser TV industry is developing relatively slowly. Without a complete industrial chain, it is difficult for the industry to develop rapidly.
