Marking On The Surface of The Material Laser Engraver

Laser engraving machine is generally used in wood products, plexiglass, glass, stone, crystal, Corian, paper, two-color board, alumina, leather, resin, etc. However, the laser engraving machine has problems in engraving metal. The reasons are as follows:

1. Dot matrix engraving Dot matrix engraving resembles high-resolution dot matrix printing. The laser head swings left and right, each time engraving a line consisting of a series of points, and then Laser Engraver moves up and down to engraving multiple lines at the same time, and finally forms the entire image or text. Scanned graphics, text and vectorized graphics can be engraved with dot matrix.

2. Vector cutting is different from dot engraving. Vector cutting is performed on the outer contour of graphics. We usually use this mode for penetrating cutting on wood, acrylic, paper and other materials, as well as marking operations on a variety of material surfaces.

3. Engraving speed: The engraving speed refers to the moving speed of the laser head, which is usually expressed in IPS (inches per second). High speed brings high production efficiency. Speed is also used to control the depth of the cut. For a specific laser intensity, the slower the speed, the greater the depth of the cut or engraving. You can use the engraving machine panel to adjust the speed, or you can use the computer’s print driver to adjust. In the range of 1% to 100%, the adjustment is 1%. Hummer’s advanced motion control system allows you to still get super fine engraving quality when engraving at high speed

4. Engraving intensity: The intensity of the engraving refers to the intensity of the laser light on the surface of the material. For a specific engraving speed, the greater the intensity, the greater the depth of the cut or engraving. You can use the engraving machine panel to adjust the intensity, or you can use the computer’s print driver to adjust. In the range of 1% to 100%, the adjustment is 1%. The greater the intensity, the greater the speed. The deeper the cut

5. Laser Engraver spot size: The spot size of the laser beam can be adjusted by using different focal length lenses. Small spot lenses are used for high-resolution engraving. A large spot lens is used for lower resolution engraving, but it is the best choice for vector cutting. The new equipment comes standard with a 2.0-inch lens. Its spot size is in the middle, which is suitable for various occasions.

Laser Engraver generally uses CO2 lasers, and the power of current laser tubes belongs to the small and medium power range. The maximum is 300W. Metals have less absorption of this medium-wavelength laser. Therefore, laser engraving machines are generally not used for engraving metal.
