Russia’s new laser weapons have been deployed to combat duty

According to foreign media reports, on December 1, the laser pointer weapon “peresweet” developed by Russia based on the new physics principle has been on trial combat duty in the Russian army.

Within the framework of Russia’s national weapons program, the Russian armed forces began to equip the system in 2017. As laser weapons and equipment were deployed, the Russian army organized personnel to learn skills and conduct training sessions.

The laser weapon was first displayed by Russian President vladimir putin during his state of the union address on March 1, 2018. After Russia voted for a name for the weapon system, the Russian defense ministry announced that the pelesweet laser weapon system has been deployed and trained at the deployment site.
