Compared with LED lighting, laser lighting has no disadvantages of reduced light efficiency, higher luminous intensity and faster response speed, not only can increase the projection distance, improve safety, but also have a smaller volume and a more compact structure. Laser lighting has most of the advantages of LED lighting.
Because the laser is a monochromatic light source, it has only one wavelength instead of colored light waves covering all wavelengths like ordinary light sources. This feature also makes the laser illumination stronger, and the light pattern can be controlled accurately, quickly and safely. Therefore, the laser light source can be more efficient and consume less power.
In addition, laser lighting can be used in security, marine, transportation and other fields, and its products include green laser pointer flashlights, laser vehicle headlights, laser sea sweeping lights, etc. However, because of the strong directivity of the laser, the brightness is much greater than that of the LED if it is not processed. At present, the RGB visual effect of laser is not yet mature, and if the laser with too much power is directed at the eyes, it will instantly penetrate the retina and cause blindness.
With the vigorous development of the national economy, monotonous light sources can no longer satisfy people’s pursuit of quality of life, and laser lighting will allow more freedom in the design of lamps. The rigidity requirements of the output will no longer hinder the design of the headlight, and the optical fiber can be bent, wound or profiled around the object, while maintaining the brightness and uniformity of the light. As the development of laser lighting technology gradually matures, it will inevitably cause structural adjustments in the traditional lighting industry, and LED lighting will eventually become history.
